Meet the coaches who are here to help you achieve your goals
My youngest child was 4, I was going to the gym and thought I was eating well. I was fit-ish, I was strong, but my body was not reflecting the amount of effort I was putting in. I was in such a vicious cycle of dieting, eating super healthy during the week, overeating on the weekend…REPEAT. I didn’t know what else to do. I could lose weight through being restrictive, but I’d always put it back on as soon as I went back to “normal eating” or as soon as life would get in the wa
I thought, why should I try and teach myself to dislike food in order to achieve my body goals. I love eating yummy food, so I knew there had to be a better way to eat well for the long term.
Ultimately, I learnt how to be flexible with my eating. I learnt how to eat more food regularly, including foods I saw as “bad” into my everyday life, not just when I was being “off my diet”. This food freedom I found allowed me to find a way to eat sustainably for life. It allowed me to eat out socially, enjoy holidays and events
The most crucial thing I taught myself was how to manage my emotional eating, when sad, tired, stressed, happy, and hormonal. I learnt how to be consistent over a long period of time. Now, I have absolute food freedom. I never have to look up the next quick fix diet to go on, I never wake up the next day feeling guilty or regretful of what I ate the day before. This feeling is amazing.
Hey, I’m De. 3 amazing young kids, business owner and gym owner.
I’ve been Nutrition Coaching for the past 8 years and run two gyms with my husband James. I wasn’t always this person though. Trust me. I’d always been the big girl, the size 16/18, semi-fit and sporty, did the gym, but always fluctuated in weight 5-10 kgs each way.
At my heaviest post babies I was over 100kgs. I had a terrible relationship with food and my body was not reflecting the amount of effort I was putting in. After having my 3rd child I was sick of being in a vicious cycle of dieting, eating super healthy, then overeating then feel guilt and regret. I could lose weight through restrictive diets, but I’d always put it back on as soon as I went back to “normal eating” or as soon as life would get in the way.
What a cycle hey…. I decided to get a Coach of my own. I love food so I knew there had to be a better way to eat for the long term. Ultimately, I learnt how to be flexible with my eating. I learnt how to eat more food regularly, include foods I saw as “bad” into my everyday life, not just when I was being “off my diet”.
This food freedom I found allowed me to find a way to eat sustainably for life. It allowed me to eat out socially, enjoy holidays, eat at parties and not feel like I’d “fallen off the wagon”.
The most crucial thing I learnt was how to manage my emotional eating, when sad, tired, stressed, happy, and hormonal. I learnt how to be Consistent over a long period of time. I have a background in Rehabilitation Counselling and am Nutrition Coach certified. My methods of coaching involve getting to your why and providing you with support and not judgment, gentle accountability and continuous education on how to wake up every single day being proud of the decisions you’re making!
WOW – having a coach changed my life. It gave me someone in my corner every step of the way to teach me how to stay on track, how to be consistent and answer ALL my questions whenever I had them. I created De Mawson Nutrition because I love helping other women find Food Freedom.
My coaches share the same vision. We want you to never have to look for the next quick fix diet to go on. We are in your corner and provide you with that unlimited support you need. We want you to never wake up feeling guilty or regretful of what you ate the day before. This feeling is amazing.
I’m a busy mum to 3 kids.
I love cooking and creating yummy foods for myself and the family (even if the kids won’t eat it). Favourite pastime: A simple coffee in peace and dessert is my favourite meal of the day.
I’d tried every fad diet going around. I was eating foods I hated whilst trying to convince myself they tasted good. I’ve tried challenges and got stuck in a restrictive mindset then weekends would consist of alcohol, taking away food and eating out.
Once the challenge or diet was over, I’d go back to eating however I wanted. I knew there should’ve been a better way to eat but I just didn’t know how. I’ve overcome many years of fad/yoyo dieting before hiring a Coach who helped me discover how to eat flexibly and it’s changed my life.
I feel very strong about the poor nutrition advice getting around and my goal is to change the way women approach their nutrition. As your Coach I want to teach you how to enjoy eating carbs again, have dessert everyday and provide you with education on how to eat sustainably for the long term so you never have to diet again.
My advice is realistic and practical. As a young mum with kids, work and a busy life I understand what your life is like and I want to show you how to live the lifestyle free from diets and restriction, eating a wide variety of food, how to cook for the family and live an active life.
